Actress Ellen Page comes out in inspiring speech
JUNO ACTRESS ELLEN Page last night publicly announced that she is gay.
Speaking at the inaugral Human Rights Campaign’s Time to THRIVE conference in Las Vegas, a visibly nervous Page said that she was proud to be on the stage.
“If we took five minutes to recognise each other’s beauty, instead of attacking each other for our differences, it’s not hard.”
She said that she drew on the courage of those in attendance, before adding.
“Loving other people starts with loving ourselves and accepting ourselves. And I am today because I am gay.”

Page added that she felt a “social responsibility” to make the speech.
“Maybe I can make a difference to help others have an easier and more hopeful time.
The Inception star went on to say that LGBT people deserved to feel love fully. She said there “were too many kids being bullied” because of who they are.
