Adam Sandler's latest film got a four minute standing ovation at Cannes... It's the Dredge

No, it’s not Opposite Day. Adam Sandler is good now? All the best of the day’s celeb dirt, in here.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

Adam Sandler’s latest film got a four minute standing ovation at Cannes. Yeah, we know.

The actor is earning rave reviews for his role in The Meyerowitz Stories, a straight-to-Netflix affair from acclaimed indie director Noah Baumbach.

He plays a man neglected by his cold father (Dustin Hoffman) in favour of his half-brother (Ben Stiller) – and according to Vanity Fair, he’s “tremendous”.

Even if Sandler’s immature comedies make you ill (an understandable reaction), his turn here as the neglected older son with a big heart and a limp is tremendous… Just when you think this character is veering into cliché, he’ll show a shade that jostles your perception.

Wonders never cease. We’ll definitely be looking out for this on Netflix. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Liam Payne says Cheryl thinks she’s ‘massive’ after having their baby Bear. Ah Chezza, don’t be worrying.

Speaking to Capital FM, Liam said she’s having a hard time dealing with the effects pregnancy has on a woman’s body:

Pregnancy is hard to deal with, it’s that first pair of jeans you can’t get into and she thinks she’s massive but she’s lost everything… She’s like “Oh I’m so big” and I’m looking at her going “You are insane, woman!”

Cheryl, you just brought life into the world. Give yourself a wee break! (Metro)
