There were emotional scenes as Adele visited the scene of the London tower block fire last night

“Respect to both of you.”

FIRES CONTINUED TO burn at Grenfell Tower in London last night, and the death toll from the tragedy is expected to rise from the 12 reported yesterday.

The community has rallied around the families left without homes – with Jamie Oliver opening the doors of his local restaurant to those who need food and drink, as well as others offering shelter and supplies for those affected.

At a late night vigil last night, Adele and her husband Simon Konecki arrived to the scene to show their support

Twitter user @FourMee was there and captured the emotional scenes

She wrote on Instagram:

Respect to both of you.

And it was a sentiment shared by many

Adele’s arrival has made headlines this morning around the world, as the London-born singer’s appearance with no fanfare has won her so much respect

Rita Ora was also spotted helping out outside the flats yesterday afternoon

As one fan wrote about Adele:

The fact that Adele has gone to Grenfell tower and not said a word about it just proves how amazingly sincere she is… Adele is an angel, she deserves heaven, biggest heart ever, so proud of her.

Over £1 million has been raised in the wake of the fire, with three separate public appeals raising funds.
