Aengus Mac Grianna had the best facial expression after a mistake on the RTÉ News last night

“Here lads, what’s going on here?”

IT’S BEEN A banner week for news bloopers.

An instant classic in the “newsreader gets the giggles” genre took place on Scottish TV, while BBC News had some hilariously bad camera work to start off a bulletin over the weekend.

But it’s not even a discussion without mentioning Aengus Mac Grianna.

And the RTÉ Nine O’Clock News provided a small moment of hilarity last night

When the camera cuts back to Aengus, an audio clip starts to play as he’s talking

And the side eye he gives just screams “what is happening here, lads?”

And once it stops, he gives the look of “right, let’s get on with it”

People were loving that look when the errant audio played

Others called it a “startled look”

It’s the little moments that Aengus adds, on top of the newsreading, that keep you coming back for more

He’s experienced in the technical glitch department at this stage – nothing is going to faze him

They’ll probably think twice about hitting that play button next time lest they get the look.
