YESTERDAY WAS A big day for the city of Worcester with a new, bigger Aldi opening its doors.
There were prizes given out to people who had queued from the wee hours and even a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Trés glam altogether.
On hand to cover the event were local newspaper Worcester News, who documented the shop’s opening with perhaps the greatest liveblog ever.
Here’s how they set the scene.
The weather wasn’t ideal, but at least there was music to keep spirits high.
They spoke to people on the scene…
Like this man who was going to win that telly, no matter what.
DON’T STOP ME NOW, I’M HAVING SUCH A GOOD TIME
It wasn’t all fun and games, though — the liveblog also included tales of hardship
But then that fella won the telly and we were all happy again
YAY!
Did we mention celebs were there?
Well, lah-di-dah.
The greatest update of all came at 9.52am when this chancer decided to leave the queue
