A local newspaper liveblogged the opening of a new Aldi and it was hilarious

“The DJ is playing Don’t Stop Me Now. Great atmosphere here.”

YESTERDAY WAS A big day for the city of Worcester with a new, bigger Aldi opening its doors.

There were prizes given out to people who had queued from the wee hours and even a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Trés glam altogether.

On hand to cover the event were local newspaper Worcester News, who documented the shop’s opening with perhaps the greatest liveblog ever.

Here’s how they set the scene.
