'Why can't I be thinner?': Restaurant removes 'misogynist' wall design after viral backlash
A UK RESTAURANT has had to redecorate its ladies’ bathrooms after customers complained that the design was ‘misogynistic’.
The walls of the toilets in the Leeds burger bar Almost Famous featured the slogans “My boobs are too small”, “Why can’t I be thinner?” and “I really need a nose job”.
The backlash began after food writer Helen Graves wrote a blog post about the decorations, deeming them ‘anti-female’ and ‘ignorant’.

“What about the people who are affected and as a result feel awful about themselves and whichever part of their body Almost Famous has reminded them they’re not satisfied with?” Graves added.
(As it happens, the decorations in the men’s loos are worryingly composed of a long quote from American Psycho.)
After a huge backlash on Twitter yesterday, the restaurant apologised for the decorations and announced they would be removing them from the bathroom wall.
