A PARTIALLY SIGHTED 27-year-old from Pomeroy, Co Tyrone took home the winning title for The Voice UK last night.
Andrea Begley, coached by Irish frontman Danny O’Donoghue of The Script, beat hot favourite, Leah McFall, who currently has four songs in the top 30 iTunes charts.
Following the announcement of the winner, Will.i.am, coach to McFall, tweeted that he was “sad” and “perplexed” about the “unexplainable” public vote.
He followed up the tweet by wishing his congratulations to Begley.
The Tyrone woman wins a record deal in the hopes she’ll do better than last year’s winner, Leanne Mitchell, whose debut single flopped.
