In their opening sketch on I’m A Celebrity last night, the pair reacted to Scarlett Moffatt revealing she once tried to contact Professor Stephen Hawking to share her theory on time travel.
Ant called up ‘Stephen Hawking’ on his phone, and was greeted by an electronic voice mimicking the physicist’s speech-generating device:

Others were quick to point out that Hawking has appeared on The Simpsons, Futurama, and The Big Bang Theory (a grand total of five times), and is obviously in possession of a sense of humour.
Pretty sure @antanddec were taking the piss out of @ScarlettMoffatt not Stephen Hawking.. they know the man's a legend #ImACeleb

People weren't happy with Ant and Dec's Stephen Hawking joke on I'm A Celeb last night

In their opening sketch on I’m A Celebrity last night, the pair reacted to Scarlett Moffatt revealing she once tried to contact Professor Stephen Hawking to share her theory on time travel.

Viewers weren’t at all impressed by the bit, calling it a ‘cheap’ joke at Hawking’s expense:
