Here's 8 of the most enjoyable April Fools' pranks of 2018

Caught rapid.

THE BEST OR the worst day of the year? Brands, companies and some plain old banter panthers have been out in force with the April Fools’ gags this year. Here’s some of our faves:

1. Four Star Pizza and Offbeat’s pizza donut

Honestly, the Ponut something that we could get behind.

It doesn’t even seem that implausible, until you read:

Four Star Pizza has also invested €1.2million in machinery to puncture the holes in the ponuts, ensuring each is the exact same size and won’t allow for toppings to slip through.”

2. Deliveroo’s ‘Try Before You Buy Option’

The app’s new update will allow you to taste and smell food before you order … In the year 2000 and never.

unnamed

Customers will have access to two brand new forms of in-app food sampling – smell and taste – so you can flick through your favourite restaurants’ menus and get a whiff of what’s on offer before you commit to purchasing.”

Oh yeah, it’s a joke now, but we all know the robots are coming for us.

3. Jurys breakfast pyjamas

How many times have you missed a hotel breakfast because you just couldn’t be arsed getting dressed? Well, no more, says Jurys Inn.

The two-piece pyjama set, which is available to collect at the hotel’s reception when checking-in, has a number of special features designed especially with breakfast in mind including built-in napkin cuffs, a mirrored collar to check how busy the buffet line is, and odour eliminating pockets for optimum sausage and rasher smuggling.”

10/10, would wear.

4. An Post’s ‘Singing Posties’

Imagine getting your ASOS with a side of ‘Wonderwall’. Brb, internally screaming.
