Arcade Fire watched Telly Bingo on RTÉ... and were inspired to give it a creepy remix

Who knew Telly Bingo was missing some malevolent synths?

LAST NIGHT, ARCADE Fire played a belter of a gig at Malahide Castle in Dublin, with 35,000 fans singing along under a blissfully rain-free sky.

They have a few days off before their next gig in Germany, and used their free time to soak up some Irish culture – by watching Telly Bingo.

Not only that, but… remixing Telly Bingo. The band posted a short clip of the show set to a thudding, slightly ominous, Drive-esque beat:

Telly Bingo host Declan Buckley (AKA Shirley Temple Bar) is delighted, as you may well imagine.

If you like the sound of that song, good – it’s believed to be Creature Comfort, a track off the band’s upcoming fifth album, Everything Now.

They played an acoustic version of the song in Whelan’s last night as a surprise treat for fans after the Malahide Castle gig.

These little tasters are certainly whetting our appetite for what’s to come. Keep on spreading the gospel of Telly Bingo overseas, Arcade Fire.
