WITH ROOM TO Improve off our screens, the return of Francis Brennan and At Your Service couldn’t come soon enough.
It’s the perfect Sunday night comfort telly.
And last night he and his brother stopped into Mary’s guesthouse in Killarney
She ran it with her son Neil and the online reviews weren’t great
They were ranked 135 out of 145 in the town so they needed the Brennan’s help, badly.
Neil was showing the lads around and describing some of the problems first hand
He seemed integral to the running of it, and was all over the internet side of things.
Halfway through the programme though, there was drama.
Francis stopped in for a chat with Mary, and she revealed that Neil has taken up another job abroad
Well now.
And in high season too.
Francis wasn’t shy with the follow up question:
Could he not have gone in October, November, December, no?
A big job was on their hands, and the viewers thought the timing of it wasn’t great

The renovations went ahead anyway, and the place was looking *well*
And at the big reveal at the end, Neil was back!
People were salty over the sudden return
But everyone seemed delighted with how it turned out – and Mary belted out a tune at the final party

And Francis’s final say on the matter?
“With a bit of family support, I think she’s going to go all the way”
