YESTERDAY WAS BARACK and Michelle Obama’s 25th wedding anniversary.

To celebrate the occasion, Michelle took to Twitter to share a photo from their wedding.

It looks like they didn’t get to spend the whole day together, as Michelle was speaking with Shonda Rhimes (the brain behind Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and Britney Spears’ coming of age classic Crossroads) at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women in Philadelphia.

To let her know he was thinking about her, Barack decided to share a video message with everyone at the conference.

Michelle appeared to be pretty surprised. When Shonda said she had a surprise for Michelle’s special day, she confusedly asked “Do you?”

Moments later, Barack was on the big screen thanking Michelle for putting up with him for a quarter of a century.

Barack thanked Michelle for being a great friend and somebody who always made sure he did the right thing. As well as all of that, he told her:

You have always been an example to our daughters and to the entire country. Your strength, your grace, your determination, your honesty, the fact that you look so good doing all of this…

It’s no wonder that as people got to know you the way that I got to know you, that they fell in love.

The former U.S. President then told Michelle that asking her out was the greatest decision that he ever made, then apologised for interrupting and let her get back to the conference.

All of this was followed by a collective “Aww!” from the audience.
