TWO THINGS YOU would literally never associate with each other: a cup of tea and fancy cocktails.
Well now, thanks to Barry’s Tea, they’ve been joined together for the first time.
They introduced their new “tea-inspired cocktails” today
This is not a joke.
The cocktails were created for Barry’s cocktail bar at this year’s Taste of Dublin festival by Conor Myers – the mixologist from The Exchequer Bar in Dublin.
There are three types, all inspired and using actual tea blends in their recipes:
- ‘Golden Dew’: Barry’s Gold Blend, Tullamore D.E.W. Whiskey, ginger & Irish honey cordial, lime & ginger ale.
- ‘Berry Fizz’: Barry’s Very Berry Tea, Hendrick’s Gin, cranberry juice, Irish elderflower cordial, fresh lemon & soda water.
- ‘Green Tea Mojito’: Barry’s Natural Green Tea, Skyy vodka, basil syrup, fresh mint, lime & soda water.
Sounds… intriguing.
In fairness, when you actually see them presented they do look fairly delicious
How much tea do you actually taste though? That’s probably the crucial question, let’s face it.
They’re only around for four days – between June 15th and June 18th – at the festival, so if tea-based cocktails sound good to you, you only have a limited amount of time to get your paws on them
Nice to see Gold Blend represented – keeping things traditional.
