CONTROVERSIAL TV PRESENTER Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended from his BBC show Top Gear.
The broadcaster released a statement this evening revealing that Clarkson has been suspended following a “fracas” with a BBC producer. His Top Gear show will not be aired this Sunday as a result, and the matter will be investigated.
Here is the BBC statement in full:
Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time.
Of course, Clarkson has previous form when it comes to controversies. In October last year, he and his team were forced to leave Argentina because of Clarkson’s number plate. Also, in May last year the BBC issued a “final warning” to him over racism allegations.
