IT’S NATIONAL ONION Ring Day, so get eating those battered hoops. Here are some of the tastiest in Ireland, in no particular order…
Did we forget your favourite? Let us know in the comments…
1. Beshoffs, Dame Street
Delicious, chunky, AND they have a gluten free option.
2. Madigans, O’Connell Street, Dublin
Their Smithwicks Ale battered onion rings are a meal in themselves.
3. McDonagh’s, Galway
Fresh, so fresh, with just the right amount of oil.
4. Eddie Rockets, Everywhere
Of course, no question.
5. Real Gourmet Burger, Dublin
Go for their skinny rings. Always a winner, and don’t feel TOO horrible for you.
6. The Galway Arms, Lower Domminick Street, Galway
Traditional sturdy batter, and won’t fall apart as you eat em.
7. Gourmet Burger Bistro, Bridge St, Cork
8. Johnnie Onion Rings
Had to be included. Not an onion ring, per say, but one that mattered a lot during your childhood.
9. The Frite Haus, Dublin
SO crispy, we dare you to suggest a crispier onion bite.
10. Camden Rotisserie, Dublin
Their beer battered onion rings are the perfect accompaniment to their chicken, or, y’know, all on their own.
11. Jackie Lennox’s Chip Shop, Cork
The home of the beige, their rings are always on point.
12. Bison, Dublin
Sure they practically batter the onion whole.
13. Beeftro, Balfe Street, Dublin
More strings than rings, but they’re so delicious they deserve a mention.
