IRELAND KICK OFF their World Cup bid this afternoon and the whole country will be watching.
But where to actually physically watch it? Preferably with a nice cold pint?
The Living Room, Cathal Brugha Street
You’re sure to get a good view of the matches in this sports bar. Expect them to roll out their tiered seating and massive screens in the beer garden.
Blackbird, Rathmines
This hipsteresque pub if putting on a free bbq at half time. There’s literally not a thing else you could want.
Fade Street Social, Fade Street
They’re offering a free pint of Clonmel every time Ireland get a try this afternoon. Don’t get too drunk.
Sinnotts, South King Street
Great food, massive screens and always a fantastic buzz during the games.
Slatterys, Dublin 4
They claim to be the world’s greatest rugby pub, and are selling VIP packages for each of the matches. Get on it.
The Old Stand, Exchequer Street
For a more… sophisticated crowd and atmosphere, head to the Old Stand. Not a sinner will knock the pint from your hand.
The Bridge 1859, Ballsbridge
This pub is actually owned by Sean O’Brien, Jamie Heaslip and Rob and Dave Kearney. Expect a mental atmosphere.
The Swan, Aungier Street
A rugby pub, through and through. It’s a more relaxed place to catch the game, but the cosy surroundings and solid atmosphere can’t be beaten.
Oscar’s, Christchurch
These lads are on the list mainly because of their irresistible meal deal. Fifteen quid during a match gets you a heineken or bombay gin and tonic, chicken wings, a 6oz burger with fries, AND a loop the loop to finish off. Sold.
The Woolshed Baa and Grill, Parnell Street
All the sport any sports fan could possibly want. Get in here, and you won’t want to leave.
