LIKE FARMVILLE AND Candy Crush before it, Bitstrips is the new craze on Facebook.
In case you’ve been lucky enough not to notice, Bitstrips is a new app that allows you to make a cartoon avatar of yourself in order to post ‘gas’ comic strips with your friends’ avatars.
We’ve come to the conclusion that they are a force that must be stopped before it’s too late and Aunt Margaret isn’t speaking to you any more because you ignored her Bitstrip requests.
At first, they were slightly amusing. A novelty
But then they started to get a bit repetitive, and we just can’t deal with them any more. We’re done
This is you
This is your timeline
This is what you want to do to people using Bitstrips
They’re the new ‘thing’
But they’re essentially just statuses that take too much effort
It’s yet another way for your parents to mortify you on social media
The politics of making an avatar is a tricky one
They provide a platform for a status update even when there’s nothing to say
They make you despise people you thought you knew so well
They exaggerate already annoying traits
NO ONE LIKES THEM
AT ALL, LIKE
Don’t worry! You can block them.
Just go to account settings in the upper right hand corner:
Select the Block option on the left hand menu:
Type in Bitstrips:
FREEDOM
