Bono serenades the Buffetts at family wedding
WHEN YOUR GRANDFATHER is worth over €40 billion, you’re bound to be well connected.
Warren Buffett’s granddaughter Emily Greenberg married Tom Threlkeld in Omaha on Friday, and none other than Bono was on hand to provide the entertainment.
Not only did he attend, he also turned wedding singer, serenading the 285 guests with a shaky rendition of Ben E. King’s Stand By Me.
Bono has a long standing relationship with the Buffetts, with both being prolific philanthropists–Buffett’s daughter Susie is on the board of Bono’s DATA charity.
But nothing could save this song. Having assaulted all ears, he jumps off stage at the Lauritzen Gardens to give the bride a hug.
Never mind the bride, how about that backing band? Time of their lives.
