BEHOLD, ALL YE fans of breakfast roll: the BREAKFAST ROLL CAKE.
The breakfast roll is an Irish institution, so much so that it made it to the Washington Post this year. But this? This is something else.
The sausages. The rashers. The egg. EVEN THE WHITE PUDDING. They’re all there, lovingly rendered in cake form.
This cake exists in Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan, where it was spotted at the Skelly Oil petrol station and shop by Shane McAuliffe.
We had to know more. So we called them to find out the story.
The cake was created by Judy’s Country Deli at Skelly’s, in honour of the opening of the Skelly’s premises in nearby Virginia.
“We had Brent Pope down to open it, so we had it done,” a staffer told DailyEdge.ie, confirming that this magnificent creation is “proper cake” the whole way through. ”Everyone is commenting on it,” they added.
We understand nobody has tasted the cake yet. But hear us: breakfast roll fans of the world, your dreams have been answered. You’re welcome.
All together now…
