Love/Hate's Moynihan to star alongside Will and Grace's Grace on Broadway

Well that’s a change in career direction.

NOW THAT NIDGE is safe and locked away (for now), D.I. Mick Moynihan is free to follow other pursuits.

The actor, who trained at the Samuel Beckett Center and Trinity College, is hitting the stage alongside non other than Grace from Will & Grace.

The play, called Outside Mullingar, is described as “heartbreaking, funny as hell, and deeply moving”. According to Broadway World, the play is set to open on January 23rd, and will run for 11 weeks in New York’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Actress Debra Messing posted a photo of the pair mid-photoshoot on her various social media accounts, and don’t they look like they’re having the craic.

Nice wellies.

The pair play Anthony and Rosemary, “two introverted misfits straddling 40″. The Manhattan Theatre Club describes the plot as your typical Irish country affair:

Anthony has spent his entire life on a cattle farm in rural Ireland, a state of affairs that-due to his painful shyness-suits him well. Rosemary lives right next door, determined to have him, watching the years slip away. With Anthony’s father threatening to disinherit him and a land feud simmering between their families, Rosemary has every reason to fear romantic catastrophe. But then, in this very Irish story with a surprising depth of poetic passion, these yearning, eccentric souls fight their way towards solid ground and some kind of happiness.

It’s not the first time that O’Byrne has been on Broadway, having previously won a Tony award for his role in another Broadway play, Frozen.
