Dublin is getting its first 'bring your own cocktail' bar, and it sounds unreal
WE’VE HEARD OF BYOB, but Bring Your Own Cocktail? That’s a new one on us.
On October 13th, a ‘bring your own cocktail’ bar called Drop Dead Twice will open on Dublin’s Francis Street.
So how does it work? The people behind Drop Dead Twice explained to DailyEdge.ie that customers are encouraged to book a two-hour slot on their website for €20.
On the day, you bring your favourite spirit (they recommend a shoulder or 350ml per person) and the bar’s resident mixologists will whip up “a minimum of five bespoke cocktails using their expertise together with a wide range of mixers and liqueurs”.
The people behind the new venture told us that they’re bringing the concept to Dublin from the likes of London and New York. (Here’s an example of a bar doing it in the UK.)
The pop-up bar is set to open on October 13th and will be around until December 31st. During their limited stay, they will be open Thursday – Sunday, and will host Christmas parties and the like.
As for whether they think Dublin is ready for a bring your own cocktail bar?
We’re intrigued anyway. Bring on the cocktails!
