IRISH PEOPLE HAVE a pretty good reputation when it comes to hospitality. Just call us us the hostesses with the mostess.
And now a British student on Reddit has told a very charming story about his experience with Irish hospitality.
In his post, Redditor mwilson1212 wrote that he had just moved to Dublin and was rather broke.
So he went to a café and told the waitress that all he could afford was toast.
It was a joke to break the ice, she found it funny, and I only had a few euros so I asked her what I could get for €2.50.
A few moments later, she arrived back with a hearty ham and cheese toastie and helping of crisps.
The Redditor told DailyEdge.ie that the random act of kindness happened in the café in axis Ballymun.
I had just moved to Dublin the day before and had very little money (student loan hadn’t come through).
Suffice to say that he was rather chuffed with the gesture.
“Gotta love Irish hospitality,” he wrote.
