Did you see Dobbo calling protesters "idiots" on the news last night?
RTÉ’S BRYAN DOBSON is coming in for criticism today after he called some protesters “idiots” during a live news broadcast yesterday evening.
Dobson was interviewing economist Ronan Lyons about property prices on Six One when three people came into view behind Lyons.
One was carrying a sign which read “burn the bonds not the billions”, while another held an Enda Kenny mask.
Dobson initially alerted his interviewee to the “visitors” behind him, before ending the interview early, calling the protesters “idiots” for disrupting the broadcast:
Yesterday evening a motion to ‘burn the bondholders’ was defeated in the Dáil.
Ronan Lyons also writes for Daft.ie, which is part of the Distilled Media Group. Journal Media Ltd has shareholders – Brian and Eamonn Fallon – in common with Distilled Media Group.
