IT’S NATIONAL BUCKFAST Day. Well, at least according to this Facebook page, which has declared the second Saturday in May as the day dedicated to the tonic wine.
Why? Why NOT.
They say:
The first ever National Buckfast Day, celebrated the 2nd Saturday of every May from this year on. A much needed day dedicated to the World’s Greatest Wine.
MUCH needed.
The organisers suggest some activities to celebrate, including, bucky bobbing for apples, musical chairs after drinking bucky, and bucky musical statues.
Over 25k people have clicked attending, and are sharing their Buckfast escapades using the hashtag #NationalBuckfastDay.
Here’s a few of the oddest ways people have consumed bucky in the past.
1. The Buckfast burger
2. Buckfast ice cream
3. Steak and Buckfast pie
4. Sausage rolls
5. Buckfast cocktails
Located in Belfast, this is not ok.
6. Buckfast rashers
Excuse us while we go vomit.
