Burglar busted after his mammy called the phone he left at crime scene
A BURGLAR WAS left pretty red-faced when his mammy rang the mobile phone that he’d left behind at the scene of the crime.
Not-so-bright Derek Codd, from Lake Worth Florida, broke into a home on Thursday, but left his phone on the kitchen counter while he was busy making a break for it.
According to the Sun Sentinel, the forgetful Floridian was discovered when ‘Mom’ appeared on the ringing phone’s screen.
The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office report states that the attending officer answered the phone and asked who it belonged to–after which, oblivious mammy gave her son’s full name.
TUT, HAW, MAM.
But the 19-year-old had taken a mobile–the victim’s, which was later found by police at Codd’s house. The woman accompanying Codd was also found with 49 items of jewellery stolen from the victim’s wife.
Both were promptly arrested and face charges of burglary, larceny.
