THE RISING COMMEMORATIONS continue today with a host of concerts and events in the city centre, as well as a star-studded concert on RTÉ One later tonight.
For the weekend that’s in it, 11-year-old Caoimhe Mooney from Longford has covered the popular Irish folk tune Grace.
The song tells the story of Grace Gifford and her wedding to James Plunkett on the morning he was executed for his role in the 1916 Rising.
Caoimhe, a student of Evolution Stage School, does an absolutely beautiful job of it:

The video has been viewed almost 100,000 times since it was posted last week, and Caoimhe’s sweet rendition of the classic song has moved a lot of people.
Now if you’ll excuse us, we need to find out who’s been chopping onions.
