Car owner charged extra for 'foul language' by clamping company
A MOTORIST WHO parked illegally and had her car towed away was charged $150 extra because she allegedly swore at the company.
Mahogony Grandison was one of several drivers parked at an apartment complex in Huntsville, Alabama whose cars were clamped and towed by a local firm.
She heard the others were charged $200 to recover their cars – so was surprised when she got a bill for $350, she told WHNT News, saying:
The company, Affordable Towing, said it applied the extra fee as Grandison had been “threatening” and “cussing” on the phone. However, she denies making this call and says she apologised for the person who did, ABC Local reports.
Affordable Towing have offered to waive part of the extra fee if Grandison goes and apologises.
