SHARON HORGAN IS currently busy promoting her first Hollywood stint in Game Night.
This side of the ocean, people are more interested in hearing about the next series of Catastrophe.
So, what have we learned from the press junkets so far?
1. Well, Sharon and Rob are currently writing it
Speaking to the Radio Times, Sharon said Catastrophe ‘comes first’ on her list of projects, then hopefully she’ll start writing more Motherland.
2. They will say goodbye to Carrie Fischer’s character
Carrie Fischer played Rob Delaney’s mother in a role that turned out to be the late actress’ last.
Sharon said she will be written out, but that it’s a ‘tricky thing to work out’, how to add a comedy element to the tragedy.
Not the making light of it thing exactly, but trying to infuse it with comedy in amongst the drama of it.
So, yeah, it took us a while to work it out. And I think in a way we’re still working it out.
3. The plot will focus on the reality of sex in long term relationships
Speaking to Elle UK, Sharon said:
Is anyone in a long-term relationship actually having sex?
I’ve definitely had some friends in couples who really go at it. But generally, long-term relationships seem to form into kind of partnership-friendship things.
She said that this will be a ‘big part’ of the series they’re currently writing.
4. It’s expected to be released later this year
There were rumours early last year when the fourth season was commissioned that it would have ten episodes, instead of the usual six.
According to notes from Amazon Prime where the show is distributed in the US, season four is due out sometime in 2018. We won’t have to wait that long, so.
