Watch Cate Blanchett's emotional tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman at the BAFTAs

“This is for you, you b*****d.”

AS SHE WON her BAFTA for best actress, Cate Blanchett chose not to spend too long thanking her family, colleagues or religious deities.

Instead, she delivered this heartfelt tribute to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman – calling him a “monumental presence” and dedicating her award to his memory.

She said:

Your generosity, your unflinching quest for truth both in art and in life will be missed not only by me but by so many people.
