Couples to have sex in a TV studio for new Channel 4 show

The pairs will knock boots in a specially constructed ‘sex box’.

FORGET GETTING DOWN and dirty under the covers in the privacy of your own room.

Channel 4′s new show will feature couples having it off in front of an actual studio audience, and then chatting about it afterwards.

Okay, so the couple will be hidden from view in a specially designed ‘sex box’, but the discussion afterwards will be “intimate”, according to Channel 4.

The programme – which will be hosted by Mariella Frostrup – is part of the station’s Campaign for Real Sex Season, which is aiming to “reclaim sex from porn”.

Its ultimate goal is to explore the effect of the consumption of pornography on the sex lives of ordinary people.

Let’s meet the ‘sex box’ couples then…

  • An engaged couple who were childhood sweethearts before separating, only to be reunited decades later
  • A gay couple in their 30s who have been together for three years and who think that people just don’t know what gay sex is
  • A couple in their 20s who are in the first flush of love

After their time in the sex box, each couple will emerge to discuss the experience with Frostrup and a panel of experts, including relationship specialist Tracey Cox:

The Box itself is a unique way to get peoples’ attention and to recognise that sex is a normal part of all our lives and something we need to be talking about openly and honestly.

Come on then, would you be okay with making the beast with two backs in the sex box, and then talking about it on telly afterwards?
