The 8 chocolatey-est hot chocolates in Galway

And by ‘chocolatey-est’, we mean ‘best’.

LET YOUR SWEET tooth run wild with these Galway hot chocolate hot spots.

1. Galway Christmas Market

A hug in a mug, why not sample some hot chocolate as you soak up the festive atmosphere. Check out the carousel, pick up some crafts at one of the many stalls, or just enjoy the atmosphere, as you sup on a warming, seasonally correct hot chocolate.

2. Arabica

Arabica on Dominick Street is one of my favourite cafes in Galway, friendly staff and a delicious hot chocolate that will warm the cockles, with yummy baked goods on the side. Arabia also has tea and coffee to beat the band.

3. Goya’s

Goyas Goyas

Hot chocolate made with real chocolate and a handy location close to Shop Street equals hot chocolate jackpot. Go shopping and then take a load off heavy feet with a short jaunt into this lovely cafe for an unctuous, frothy hot chocolate break.

4. The Secret Garden

Really, they love tea here, proper love it, but the Secret Garden does a mean hot chocolate too. Grab a corner seat and a book and while away an hour or two with a warming, intensely flavoured hot chocolate. It’s open late and is one of the cosiest cafes you’ll find in Galway.

5. Mocha Beans

Step away from the bulletproof coffee and go directly to the gentler, but reliably delicious hot chocolate. Sometimes it’s just better to go with a traditional option.

6. Cupan Tae

Of course, there is regular hot chocolate, loaded up with marshmallows and all delicious milky, chocolatey goodness. However, the brilliant Cupan Tae also has a healthier hot chocolate option: Rooibos tea with spices, cocoa kernels and the merest dash of cream. #CleanEating surely sorted.

7. Esquires

Esquires has possibly the most massive coffee cups in Galway. If you’re in the mood for a bucket of hot chocolate then Esquires could be a wise choice. To make it extra special, ask for a luxurious, white hot chocolate is an indulgent experience and easily doubles as a dessert in a cup.

8. Le Petit Delice

Le Petit Delice’s chef whips up a fresh batch of hot chocolate everyday, with cream and marshmallows included. Expect deliciousness on arrival. The French cafe is an authentic and luxurious hot chocolate option.
