The Irish Christmas Tree Throwing Championship was an epic occasion

Just look at all the techniques on show.

THE IRISH CHRISTMAS Tree Throwing Championship took place yesterday in Ennis, Co Clare.

In it, participants had to hurl a “standard 1.5 metre” Christmas tree as far as they possibly could.

It was an exciting occasion. The winner was Gary O’Growney, who chucked his tree a mighty 10.2 metres to equal the current Irish record. But there were a number of techniques on show:

1. The Epic Underarm Lob
