Sesame Street stars miss perfect opportunity to slag CNBC after that mortifying IDA interview
LAST WEEK IDA Ireland head Martin Shanahan appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box, and fielded a bizarre and ignorant line of questioning from anchor Joe Kernan.
Kernan seemed unaware of Ireland’s currency and geography, evident from this extract from a transcript:
Sesame Street stars Elmo and Grover appeared on the show today to mark the Street’s 45th anniversary.
Kernan was once again a member of the hosting panel and he gave them a pretty hard time, quizzing them on the commercial aspect of Sesame Street’s merchandise, and on the number of hours of TV children should be watching every day.
As New York-based economics journalist Matt O’Brien points out, they missed an opportunity to get him back with a decent slag:
