"It's time we had a talk...": Colorado news anchor is sick of viewers' patio snow photos

We’re surprised Martin King hasn’t done this yet.

IT SEEMS, NO matter where you go in the world, people just love to share their weather pictures. Remember how clogged with snowmen and car-bonnet shots your Facebook feed was during Ireland’s recent harsh winters?

In Colorado, you might think they’d gone far beyond considering wintery weather as anything close to a novelty. Even here, toddlers began turning their nose up at snowball-fight opportunities after the first week-or-so of sub-zero temperatures.

Apparently not, it seems. According to local station 9News, viewers are all too eager and willing to send in their snow pics “whether it’s the first snow of the season or the last”.

Well, one member of the news team has had enough.

Anchor Kyle Clark made a guest appearance during an afternoon bulletin this week to make a Network-style plea to viewers, opening with the ominous sounding line:

“Listen, you know I love you, but it is time we had a talk about your snow covered patio furniture.”

He makes a compelling argument that Coloradans live in “one of the most beautiful spots on Earth,” but every time it snows “we point our cameras toward the back porch”.

“It’s easy: point your camera out the window and click.”

But he insists Colorado doesn’t “do easy,” and demands viewers make more effort.

“We love winter. We own winter. So lets see some photos that look like it next time it snows.”

The reporter’s been getting a pretty mixed reaction to his take-down since that broadcast, with one or two viewers claiming to be mystified that he still has a job.
