Comedian bombs at Irish gig, calls Dubliners a bunch of c**nts

Ah now, you’ll never make friends that way.

OH, OK. THE Vodafone Comedy Festival is currently taking place in Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens, bringing comedians from all over the world in to perform over four days.

While headliners Russell Howard, Al Murray and Dara O’Briain have all been thrilling audiences, American comedian Jen Kirkman isn’t enjoying herself. The author, actress and stand up comedian arrived in Dublin during the week and it’s just THE WORST.

Her first gig was on Thursday, which she felt she ‘bombed’

Things just got worse and worse

WARNING: Bold language ahead. Very bold.

Unimpressed with her Irish welcome, Kirkman called out the whole country to her 140,000 followers.

A few jumped in to apologise, but Dublin was still going down

But HEY she’s not about to let haters stop her from doing her thang

UPDATE: Kirkman took to Twitter this afternoon to apologise for her drunk outburst, retweeting a steady flow of abuse she’s been receiving for it.

Comedian Louie CK previously recounted an experience he had at the Carlsberg Comedy festival back in 2008, one of his worst shows ever. That’s until, the second night.

The audience was generous, patient and thoughtful in a distinctly Irish way, Just as the audience the night before was impatient, mean and distracted in a distinctly Irish way.

Kirkman plays the festival’s Comedy Hub tonight. We hope no one in attendance has seen her tweets.
