ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON, Anthony Burrowes decided to leave the house and go for a stroll.
I decided around 12pm on Sunday that I needed to go for a walk and picked up my camera as an excuse.
While out and about, he found himself at Ha’penny Bridge where he was confronted with a “perfect view of Dublin on an autumnal day” and decided to get snapping.
He spotted some paddleboarders in the River Liffey and decided to take a photo. But he wasn’t banking on getting this shot.
As soon as I clicked the camera, they kissed. It was just a perfect moment.
At the behest of his friend Emma, he decided to spread the photo on social media and try to identify the couple in the photo.

Yesterday, the Facebook page Love Dublin shared the photo with the following message.
Emma Carroll got in touch with us today, asking us if we could try and find who these two lovers are. It was taken yesterday, 1st of November in the afternoon in our fair city. It really is a priceless photo, a lucky shot that you’d love to have to cherish forever.
If you know who these people are, please contact the page as soon as you can. If not, spread the word, tag your friends, share the photo, anything! Let’s give this couple a gift money simply cannot buy!
Within hours, Facebook users identified the man in the photograph as Keith Gorman and his girlfriend.
Gorman explained to DailyEdge.ie that he’s an avid paddeleboarder – “I teach it and race competitively” — and was paddleboarding up the Liffey when the infamous kiss happened.
Up the Liffey is a nice one that you don’t get to do too often. It’s a nice way of seeing the city.

So how did he first hear about the photo going viral?
I came in from swimming training and a couple of friends had commented on it saying, “Is this you?”
He described the whole thing as “a bit unusual” but told DailyEdge.ie that he had been in touch with Burrowes to thank him for the photo.
Furthermore, he told us that he has invited Burrowes to accompany him on a paddleboarding excursion.
