THE BEST PART of the original Crystal Maze was the ridiculous decisions the contestants made under pressure.
It’s good to see that this hasn’t changed at all in the Richard Ayoade-lead reboot.
A poor unfortunate contestant on last night’s show was challenged with hopping from ‘planet’ to ‘planet’ to reach a crystal, without touching the floor.
Despite great encouragement from his team members, Rob only managed to get to the second planet before deciding to turn back… then found himself stuck on the red planet.
Agghhh.
You can really feel his abject horror in this moment. Richard saying “Don’t fall into the infinite void of space” really got to him.
Rob was of course locked in to the room, and his team were forced to go on without him – but he became a legend in the eyes of the people at home:
