A WOMAN WHO opened a cuddling shop in the US city of Portland, Oregon says she has had 10,000 requests for cuddles in just one week.
Samantha Hess, a self-proclaimed ‘professional cuddler’, offers hand-holding, hair-stroking and spooning sessions for those who do not get the “level of human contact” needed to be their “optimal selves”.
It doesn’t come cheap, though – the services at Cuddle Up To Me are offered in 30 or 60 minute sessions, at a price of $1 a minute.
According to FOX 12, Hess has had to hire three other cuddlers to keep up with the demand.
Before she opened her shop, Hess met clients privately at locations of their choosing. Now, she has four themed rooms perfectly set up for cuddling.
She insists there is absolutely nothing dodgy about the business, telling FOX 12: ”People always think that there’s upgrades or, you know, additional services that we provide, and that’s not true.”
It’s the same for a man or a woman. We are a family-oriented service. We’re not adult-oriented in any way. We just make people feel loved and accepted for who they are.
