EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.
Benedict Cumberbatch has spoken out about his low key engagement announcement.
The Sherlock actor has told USA Today at a screening of The Imitation Game in LA that the method of announcing his and Sophie Hunter’s intention to wed is what he would have done if he “wasn’t famous”. (USA Today)
Cumberbatch and Hunter’s engagement was announced via a short notice in The Times last week.
The actor said:
It was a way of telling our friends who we hadn’t been able to tell before (they saw) some grainy shot of a ring on her finger.
USA Today reports that Cumberbatch greeted his Imitation Game co-star Matthew Goode (married to Sophie Dymoke) on the red carpet with “we’ve both found Sophies!”.
Too much cute!
Meanwhile, Geri Halliwell has followed suit, putting her engagement announcement in The Times too.
Has Cumberbatch started a classy celeb trend?
Some more of Irish model Nadia Forde’s I’m a Celebrity fellow jungle dwellers have been revealed.
She’ll be joining former Girl of the Playboy Mansion Kendra Wilkinson and BBC newsreader Michael Buerk among others. (Daily Mail)
Aussie paps and reporters have been keeping a close eye on the arrivals hall at Brisbane Airport to see what well known (ahem) names will be heading into the jungle to cuddle in with the snakes and rats.
