Daniel and Majella O'Donnell are going to get their house done up by Dermot Bannon on Room to Improve

This is what dreams are made of.

WE WERE ALL left sorely disappointed when Room to Improve was cut short last season with little explanation.

We had a little guess at what the problem was, but it has yet to be cleared up by RTÉ.

They could be making it up to us next season by the inclusion of a celebrity project in next year’s season. It’ll be none other than Daniel and Majella O’Donnell. Beautiful.

According to The Sunday World, Daniel and Majella went to Dermot to discuss remodelling their home in Meenbanad, Co. Donegal.

At least they’ve got their holiday home in Tenerife to stay in while all of the dirty work is done.

While visiting a homes exhibition, Majella met Dermot and asked if he’d come to Donegal to see the house.

Seeing how much of a laugh the couple were on their B&B Road Trip series, it would be impossible to decline.

Majella told The Sunday World “Dermot then asked if we’d do the show. We weren’t thinking about doing that show, but now we’re doing it, it’s a much bigger job than we could have done ourselves.”

As always, Dermot wants to focus on the landscape around the property, and luckily he’s working with very scenic surroundings in Donegal.

Daniel commented that there has been a “wee bit of drama” already. Sure it wouldn’t be Room to Improve if there wasn’t.

We gave Dermot a budget and they are only getting the quotes in now. He came back with the budget spent to the last penny.

Sounds like Dermot. Daniel added that he was a bit nervous about the time constraints on the project.

They are hoping to start the work next month and they say it’ll be finished by Christmas but I think they’ll need to go to Lourdes because that’ll take a miracle.

This is going to make for some really, really good Irish TV. Roll on January.
