DON’T WORRY CITIZENS of Darndale. This photo doing the rounds on social media is NOT of a scary clown sighting on the northside.
The clown in question has spread like wildfire on social media, but it turns out it’s just a Halloween costume from last year. A very convincing Halloween costume.
It caused a touch of hysteria in Darndale, with website LovinDublin reporting on the phenomenon after some joker posted the photo on Facebook.
This particular photo, which appears to be a Snapchat capture, was posted last night and shared hundreds of times
Darndale were, understandably, a bit freaked out by it all
Some people started to claim it was taken on Glin Road recently, until others chimed in to say it was taken on Glin Road, but last Halloween
The clown in question is actor Paul Quinn Jr, who took to Facebook to put a lot of minds at ease
He wrote:
OK, there is no killer clown in your neighborhood this is just a picture of me from last year. Some people are losing their Shit over this picture. Calm down.
Paul confirmed to DailyEdge.ie that the clown in question was him in costume, and yes, he’s terrifying.
A Coolock teenager seems to have started the frenzy on Facebook on Sunday night, claiming to have seen a clown running around the area.
She later admitted to having a laugh, but Paul’s brother shared his photo as a joke and things went wild.
It’s unclear why the rumour was spread around now, but it perhaps comes after the recent round of reports of similar (and very real) incidents happening in America.
