DAVINA MCCALL has assured well wishers that she’s “ok” after footage emerged of her being carried out of Lake Windermere this morning.
McCall is taking part in a seven day 500 mile triathalon challenge to raise money for Sport Relief. She’s planning to travel from Edinburgh to London by Friday; running, swimming and cycling.
Earlier today they Sport Relief Twitter account posted this message:
McCall herself had also tweeted that today’s swim would be her “nemesis” and she was pictured in tears before setting off earlier this morning:
The swim was livetweeted from the Sport Relief account, before this video was posted which shows crew members helping McCall out of the water and carrying her to a nearby hotel:
Soon after she completed the swim Sport Relief provided an update on MCall’s status, following fears that she was suffering from hypothermia.
She has since tweeted:
I’m ok. That was hairy. Thank you all for your support. I’m about to get on a bike.
Celebrities like John Bishop and David Walliams have raised millions for Sport Relief in the past by taking on similar gruelling challenges.
