IT’S DECEMBER 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It’s a day of many tradtions. Putting up the tree, and for country folk–travelling up to the big schmoke for the annual big Christmas shop.
But is that still a thing?
Technically, no. The traditional Farmer’s shopping day is dwindling, in part blamed for Sunday trading and a drop off in schools closing up on the Monday for the religious feast.
But try telling that to a crowd of angry culchies.
1. It’s happening, anyway
2.
3.
4. It’s still ripe for the jokes
5.
6.
7. The lines are getting blurred, confusion is rife
8. But it’s real, very real
And we need to diversify.
Happy shopping!
