THE ALL IRELAND Football Final is in full swing right now, but before the game had even begun a talking point emerged: Diarmuid Connolly’s vest. Yes, his vest.
Connolly arrived out for the warm up wearing a vest, while the rest of his teammates wore their jerseys – Sunday Game host Michael Lyster had to come out and confirm that the vest was part of the official Dublin kit, such was the shock in the studio.
Pundits Joe Brolly and Pat Spillane were practically swooning over Connolly’s physique:
Brolly: If I had a body like that I’d be wearing a vest.
Spillane: Jeez, that’s… biceps, triceps… Ooh! Jeez.

Meanwhile, everyone else watching was experiencing lots of conflicting feelings – admiration, disgust, amusement; the whole gamut.
Ireland, 2017: Where wearing a vest top is still somewhat scandalous. You have to love it.
