DJ escapes slap down after he Snapchats crotch pictures to Kiwi swimmer
A SHOCK JOCK in New Zealand is set to avoid any disciplinary action after sending a picture, via Snapchat, of his genitals to one of the country’s best swimmers.
Dom Harvey, one of the presenters of a morning show on the Edge, send the photo of his privates to 100m freestyle swimmer Sophie Pascoe, who tweeted about the incident moments before she was due to compete at an international meet in Canada. Pascoe went on to record a world record time in the race.
She tweeted, “Just finished eating dinner and opened Snapchat. #awkward surprise.”
Harvey apologised for the photo message and claimed that he had intended to send the picture to a female producer on the show as part of a private joke.”
According the New Zealand Herald, Harvey then tried to clear up an embarrassing situation with a joke referring to Pascoe’s sponsored involvement with New Zealand beef and lamb. He remarked, “So sorry about that Snapchat. I know you like beef and lamb … but nobody deserves a surprise pork sausage.”
Mediaworks, who owns and operates The Edge, are not planning disciplinary action, according to programme director Leon Wratt. Harvey later tweeted this:
