Dog Christmas carol service to be held at Christ Church Cathedral

Santa Paws Is Coming To Town.

IT SOUNDS LIKE a barking idea but it also gives you paws for thought.

A Christmas carol service for dogs is to be held in Dublin’s Christ Church Cathedral today – but they’re not just any mutts off the street.

The Peata Carol Service will see ‘therapy dogs’, who work with sick people to make them feel better, joining their owners for the service, with the barking of dogs temporarily replacing the renowned cathedral choir.

The carol service will bring together companion dogs – who visit hospitals, nursing homes and other caring institutions – their owners, and the people who benefit from the visits in what has become an annual fundraising tradition.

The lunchtime concert kicks off at 1.15pm today.

Obviously it’s going to be tough for the dogs to learn all the words, so we thought we’d help them out with a few suggestions for songs they can sing:

  • Bark The Herald Angels Sing
  • Fairy-tail of New York
  • We Three King Charles Spaniels
  • Have Yourself a Terrier Little Christmas
  • We Shih-Tzu A Merry Christmas
  • Santa Paws Is Coming To Town
  • Bite Christmas
  • Santa Puppy

It took us hours to come up with that list. Think you can do better? Over to you in the comments…
