This dentist has an adorable 'dog nurse' to help calm nervous children
THIS IS JOJO.
She’s a dental assistant. Well, kind of.
JoJo works as a comfort dog in Pediatric Dentistry of Northbrook, a children’s dental practice in Illinois.
Her role in the clinic? To help keep children calm during their dentist appointments.
JoJo has been performing the service since last year when one of her handlers brought her in to help keep nervous kids company during their appointments.
And it quickly went down a treat.
Now she comes in once a month to sit with patients who request her company. One of the dental clinic’s employees told Buzzfeed that she’s such a hit that patients now ring up to specifically request her.
