A DAY DOESN’T go by that isn’t officially celebrating something to kick up a bit of promotion.
Like, earlier this week we had World Milk Day but we didn’t see any 2 litre cartons being given out on the streets (for shame).
Today, for once, there is a national celebration for something people do really care about: doughnuts.
And Huckleberrys in Cork was offering free boxes of six doughnuts for the first 100 people into the shop this morning – so people were queuing from 5.50am
And just before the shop had opened, the queue had got to absolutely ridiculous levels, snaking its way down the road
CHAOS.

He’s shook.
Passersby couldn’t help but notice the commotion

The great Irish doughnut boom looks set to continue for some time to come
Fair play for those who got in the door first – it looks like a scene straight out of The Hunger Games.
Godspeed all on your doughnut quest.
