GAZING UPON THE departures board for the Dublin-Amsterdam flight, you might come across the words:
“Go To Gate 420″
Yes, this is not a drill:
For those unaware, allow Urban Dictionary to describe why this is a beautiful coincidence:
Spotted by Irish Reddit user HeveredSeads this week, the Gate 420 to Amsterdam is not a new phenomenon in Dublin Airport.
Not by a long shot.
Evidence of it exists as far back as 2013 – and yes, it was the departure point to the Netherlands’ capital of weed culture
Supplemented by photographic confirmation in 2014, this is a long-running thing
And on and on it goes – the Aer Lingus flight from Dublin seems to depart from Gate 420 an awful lot
Is it just a coincidence? Or did someone plant a weed joke deep in the heart of the Dublin Airport machine?
Probably the former, but it’s a nice little nod for those travelling over

Dank.
