This lovely video of a Dublin busker jamming with a girl with autism is going viral on Facebook

“It meant so much to me that for once I didn’t need to say ‘Oh I’m sorry, she has autism,’” her mam told DailyEdge.ie.

MEET DUBLIN MAM Christine Jordan and her seven-year-old daughter Kelly, who has autism.

The Jordan family were out for a meal in the city earlier this month when they spotted a busker on Bloom’s Lane.

Kelly went straight over and “tried to use his drums as bongos” – Christine feared she’d have to call her back, but instead, the drummer produced another drumstick and handed it to her so she could play along with him.

She was a big hit with the gathered crowd:

In a bid to find out the name of the kind busker who had “made Kelly’s night”, Christine posted a video of her performance on the Drumming Ireland Facebook page.

He was quickly identified as Jeremy Hickey, a multi-instrumentalist from Kilkenny who performs under the name Rarely Seen Above Ground (RSAG).

Christine told DailyEdge.ie that she just wanted to thank him for being so good to Kelly:

It meant so much to me that for once I didn’t need to say “Oh I’m sorry, she has autism.” Everybody just saw a little girl having fun, and that meant the world to us!

“Her confidence is growing everyday, she’s a long way from the little girl who didn’t speak or interact a few years ago,” she wrote.

Christine has contacted Jeremy to say thanks – she says the family is “overwhelmed” with the kindness of the people who commented and helped out.

They’ll have a drummer in the house yet. Go Kelly!
